I have lived in some houses or apartments that were just downright ugly. But I was determined not to leave it that way. Come join in and see what all the buzz is about. (It’s kind of mundane here sometimes because I am a homebody, but I try to put a little kick in every post). Obviously the first two photos below are of on me different days I shaved my head.
Sturdy Walls
They were tidy and decorated and something most all of us could create. If you sew, pillow covers are easy to make yourself. And, it’s a simple sewing project that doesn’t require much fabric. You can often find inexpensive fabric at thrift stores and yard sales to use for pillow covers or other home decor items. One of the main ways to make your home feel cozy is with good lighting.
Built-Ins: Capitalized Space
This space features an old distressed cupboard. It is decorated with a container of daisies and a blue and white bowl full of red apples. The only decor is the two plants in white planters and a painting hanging above the toilet. There is a collection of cutting boards on the wall and greenery on the table. This dining arrangement is much like the first one. Wicker chairs mixed with wood chairs and a simple rustic dining table.
Painted Wood Floors
In the spring and summer, try citrus and more floral scents. Houseplants add a wonderful homey look to any house, and as an added bonus, they can also help purify the air. Lighting candles, gathering fresh flowers from the yard or flowering bushes, and baking something delicious in the oven are other inexpensive ways to cozy up your space. Color and whimsical finds are everywhere, even the kitchen. Your backyard a long stretch of sand that you can sink your bare feet into.
